Mark Mustio (R-Allegheny) to simplify and clarify the definition of an “independent contractor” under Pennsylvania’s Workers’ Compensation Act to allow sole proprietors, partners of a partnership, and officers of a Limited Liability Company (LLC) to purchase workers’ compensation insurance was signed into law by Gov. Tom Corbett today.

Senate-amended legislation sponsored by Rep. Today the state House of Representatives passed legislation to allow for transit competition within Allegheny County, Reps. Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) and Mark Mustio (R-Allegheny) said. The legislation, House Bill 10, will permit private companies or other regional transit systems to be able to deliver transit services within the county by eliminating bureaucratic red tape.
